Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival

2016-fw-1-thumb.jpgHappy Thirsty Thursday everyone. The weekend is a mere day away so why not kick it off early by popping, cracking or however else you can open a beverage and enjoy our blog. Today we are talking about an annual event that is held at Disney’s Epcot park known as the Food and Wine Festival. Let’s learn a little bit about this fun filled event and hear from our Disney expert, Connie on what she had to say.

2016 marks the 21st anniversary of this legendary festival. It is so popular that they have extended the event 9 extra days this year, as it now runs from September 14th-November 14th, so there is still time to get in on the action. The great thing about the Food and Wine Fest is that it is perfect for the whole family, or a great reason for adults to head down to Disney without the kids. After many years and the growing popular opinion, the Food and Wine Festival is now 1 of America’s top food festivals. There are culinary events, celebrity chefs as well as seminars, concerts and much more. This year Iron Chef’s and “Chopped” judges Geoffrey Zakarian and Masaharu Morimoto will be among the many must see chefs. Like everything at Disney, they make it better and better every year, this year is no different– they are introducing new hands on workshops and many new events.

Now let’s hear what Connie had to say about one of her favorite events of the year, “I loved the Food and Wine Festival.  I have attended it twice.  They do a ½ marathon, cooking demonstrations, mixology glasses, food and wine samples from the different regions from around the world. If you are a foodie and like to try different samples this is the place to be.  It is coming more and more popular every year.”
