Let’s Take a Cruise

Viking - Century Sun.jpgIf you are avid reader of my blog, then you know that I am a big advocate for river cruising. I did my honeymoon the end of last year on a Viking river cruise and fell in love. With that being said I am constantly on the search for my next trip and one of the top contenders right now is a Viking: Asia Trip. Currently through Viking cruises there are 5 different Asian itineraries ranging from 13-18 days with optional pre and post dates as well. So lets dive right in and learn a little bit about where these tours go and find the right locations for you and possibly myself.

3 of the 5 itineraries are focused primarily in China. They include the majority of the time traveling by river cruise and a few days in hotels in some of the bigger cities. Option 1 called the Imperial Jewels of China is a 13 day itinerary. Begin your imperial escape in Beijing, you will also travel to Xian, Chongqing, Shibaozhai Temple, Three Gorges, Jingzhou, and end your stay in Shanghai. The Pre-extension option is located in Beijing and ends in Hong Kong.

The second China option is called the Roof of the World and lasts a stunning 16 days. Again being your trip in fast paced Beijing, visiting Xian, Lhasa, Chongqing, Shibaozhai Temple, the Three Gorges, Jingzhou, Wuhan, and end in bustling Shanghai. Pre-Excursion in Beijing and Post in Shanghai. This option is similar to the first with added cities and extensions on the front and end with more days in the bigger areas.

The final China option is Undiscovered China. With sites like the Great Wall and terra-cotta soldiers this 18 day adventure will fully immerse you in everything China. Begin your adventure in Shanghai, continue on to Yueyang, Three Gorges, Shibaozhai Temple, Chongqing, Lijiang, Chengdu, Xian and end in Beijing. The Pre-extension is in Shanghai and Post is in Beijing.

If you would like to explore other countries throughout Asia the  next two options may be right up your ally. The first is an exciting 15 day adventure known as Magnificent Mekong. Begin the thrills in Hanoi Vietnam, with your next stops in Angkor Wat, Kampong Cham, Phenom Penh Cambodia, head back to Tan Chau, Sa Dec and Ho Chi Ming City Vietnam to round out the trip. Spend your Pre-extension in Hanoi and Halong Bay and end with a stop over in Bangkok Thailand. This option definitely lets you see the most countries throughout Asia in just over two weeks.

Last, but certainly not least is the Myanmar Explorer 15 day adventure. Begin in Bangkok, Thailand with your next stops in Yangon, Inle Lake, Mandalay, Ohne Ne Choung, Bagan, Sale Monasteries, Yan dab, and Mint Mu Myanmar before finishing your tour back in Bangkok. Both Pre and Post extensions will be done in Bangkok Thailand. This will give you a truly great feel of everything Myanmar, a beautiful East Asia country.
