City by the Bay

golden-gate-bridge-690346_960_720.jpgFor those of you who have ever visited the San Francisco area you know there are endless possibilities for things to do. And for those of you who haven’t, keep on reading because I am going to share with you some of the highlights of the Bay area. Travel professional Mike loves visiting California, especially San Francisco he makes multiple trips a year because it is one of his favorite locations. Lucky for us he has shared with me his top things to do in the Bay area, making this Makin’ Memories Monday a special treat for all of you readers. So lets get right into it:

My 5 favorite things to do when I visit the Bay Area…
1 – Drive over Grizzly Peak.  The view over the bay on to the city is incredible.  If it’s a sunny, clear day, you will have an outstanding sunset.  Perfect for a glass of wine and relaxing night over looking the Bay.
2 – Eat at Cha Cha Cha’s in the Mission District.  They have a very fun atmosphere, mixed crowd, and some of the best sangria!
3- Visit Stinson Beach.  Very scenic drive to Stinson Beach, you can catch some great shots of the coast.  Once you get there, it’s a great place to people watch, relax in the sun, and watch the surfers.  Little town nearby to get a bite to eat, drinks and shop.
4 – Afternoon in Dolores Park is a fun place to relax on the weekend.  Get there early, as it will get very busy.  Very fun place to bring some eats/drinks, and watch all sorts of local San Franciscans do their thing.  Tennis courts and basketball courts are available.
5 – Ride a trolly!  Did this for the first time, after about 10 trips and living out there for a while.  It’s a must do for any tourist, but still fun to do after living in SF for year!  Hop on and hop off for $7.00 or a day long pass for $20.00.  Make sure to check out the cable car museum.
I myself have never been to San Francisco, but after reading Mike’s list I am ready to pack my bags and check out this cool city with clearly so much to do! I like that he gave us a very eclectic list, somethings that would definitely interest any type of traveler.
