Last week we talked about the event that makes Oshkosh world renowned–EAA. One of our travel consultants, Veronica, works for Basler’s at Wittman airport in Oshkosh and always has a front row seat (not that she has time to sit) for all the action of EAA. Veronica spends the July week every summer putting in hours and hours making sure her part is done for the massive production that is EAA. Here is what she has to say about the airshow.
“I love any situation that brings people from all over the world together to embrace something they love. EAA’s Airventure in Oshkosh definitely does that. I have the pleasure of working for Basler Flight Service, the FBO at Oshkosh. We have customers from as close as the next town over to as far away as Australia come to take part in all things aviation. I always find myself getting excited too. I love watching the mass arrivals, one after the other of Cessnas, Bonanzas and more, and of course this year I got to enjoy my favorite military jet, the harrier. Airventure is a lot of peoples yearly vacation, and I love that I get to be a part of it.”
Veronica has a degree in geography and uses that degree in both of her jobs. I think it is important to see that travel jobs really do bring all sorts of people with all sorts of backgrounds together. What better combination could a Geographer have then working as a travel consultant and for an airport?
