Christmas (market) in July

Although we are all enjoying the warm weather that summer brings, and escaping to warm getaways during the holidays is a great idea, but there is an alternative that gets you in the Christmas spirit, and that is holiday markets in Europe. Here is what consultant Veronica has to say about them:

“Last winter I got the opportunity to travel to Berlin, Prague, and Vienna on a tour that focused on the Christmas markets. I didn’t know how I would feel about going from cold Wisconsin to cold Europe, but let me tell you there is no other place I would rather be at Christmas time. The Christmas markets are something out of a fairytale. You walk around, sipping mulled wine, and browsing handmade good for sale. There is often music and rides for children. The thing I was most surprised about was that it is not just a tourist thing. Tons of locals are there, sharing an after dinner drink, grabbing some food, and just getting in the Christmas spirit.”

Like Veronica, I myself have enjoyed Christmas markets throughout Europe. My favorite is in Munich Germany. I love Gluhwein (mulled wine) and potato pancakes that are served almost universally throughout the markets. They are a wonderful place to be that get you in the Christmas spirit. Now you may be asking yourself why would I be thinking about this now, it’s summer, I’m not planning a winter trip yet. But this is the time to book. We are only 5 months out from Christmas and deals to Europe in the winter can be a lot better than in the summer. We would love to help you plan a trip to one of these amazing countries and give you the magical gift that only christmas brings.
