Welcome back to your trivia question of the week. As always, lets begin by revealing last week’s answer.
Last weeks question: “Which of the 7 wonders of the world is/are still in existence today?”
Answer: Pyramids of Giza
We are fortunate to have so many amazing landmarks still around today to help us learn about the people that came before us, the Pyramids being no exception. If you’re a history nerd like me, then you love how much history plays into the world of travel. I love going to a place that connects me with a time and people from hundreds and sometimes thousands of years ago.
The Great Pyramid is the largest of the Pyramids of Giza. It was built over what was believed to be a 10-20 year period finally completed in 2560 BCE. It remained the worlds tallest man made structure for 3800 years. Finally being replaced in 1311 ACE by Lincoln Cathedral in England. The Great Pyramid was constructed as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu and his wives. It includes 3 chambers and has both ascending and descending walk ways.
